Deanna Nezat

Deanna Joy Soileau Nezat entered eternal rest on June 15, 2022, passing away peacefully at the age of 80 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Facility in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Deanna was treasured by her five sons and beloved grandchildren. She was always ready to show her boundless love by cooking a favorite meal or dessert. Her pets and plants grew healthy and strong under her watchful eye, and her paintings and flower arrangements displayed her talent and creativity. Deanna’s strength of spirit and tenacity endeared her to friends and family alike. She leaves a deep void in the hearts and lives of those who sincerely loved her.

Deanna is survived by her sons, Dennis Nezat of Opelousas, Kenneth Nezat (Joni) of Madisonville, David Nezat of Lafayette, Chad Nezat (Christine Leblanc) of Eunice, and Ron Nezat (Michelle) of Opelousas; grandchildren Jolane Blackstock (Jeremy) of Gonzales, Kolt Nezat (Jennifer) of Eunice, Spencer Nezat (Jessica) of Lafayette, Jackson Kervin of Pineville, Emily Nezat of Opelousas, Caleb Nezat of Lafayette, Katrina Nezat of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Meredith Nezat of Opelousas; and great-grandchildren Tristan and Caleb Blackstock of Gonzales.

Deanna is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dean Nezat, her sister, Betty Soileau, and her parents, Edovic Soileau and Essie Mae Ardoin Soileau.
