David Woodson, Sr.

Opelousas- Funeral Service for David Eli Woodson, Sr. at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Father Darren Eldridge conduct the service. Burial followed at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Woodson, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Richard Woodson of Leonville; sons, David E. Woodson, Jr. of Opelousas, Bruce (Tony) Woodson of Leonville, Johnny Woodson and wife Spring of Opelousas, and Cody Lee Woodson and wife Tiffany of Crowley; brother, Billy James Dupre and wife Sheila Ortego Dupre of Opelousas; sisters, Barbara Woodson Latiolais of Lawtell and Beverly Woodson Thibodeaux and husband Joseph of Opelousas; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded by his daughter Dana Marie Woodson Leger, his parents, Elie and Rena Lalonde Woodson; grandparents, Colda and Alide Woodson and David and Marie Darby Lalonde; and brother in law Arthur Latoilas.

Pallbearers will be Micah Woodson, Colin LaHaye, Drake Woodson, Holden Woodson, Derek Leger, and Kevin Latiolais. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Woodson and Tony Woodson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary was recited at 7p.m. by Deacon Collins.
