David dedicated his life to a career in landscaping, where he found joy in nurturing and beautifying the natural environment around him. His interests extended beyond his profession; he had a deep passion for fishing, cutting grass, and cooking, activities that brought him immense happiness and allowed him to share his love with those around him. He was well-known within his community and cherished for the warmth he brought to every interaction. He was a loving son although he had his moments at times. He will forever be missed by his family.

He was a proud father to his sons, Glynn Bryce Vidrine of Grand Prairie, and Jonathan Joseph Hotard of Alexandria, and a doting daughter, Danielle Reese Esquivel of Church Point. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: brother, Elton James Ryder, Jr., and sisters, Dana Renee Aymond, April Martin, and Claire Martin. His legacy continues through his granddaughter, Za'Niya Dior Citizen of Church Point, along with his nephews, Mason Guage Ryder, Carter Ray Landry, Hayden James Bernard and Michael Richard; and great nephew, Jasper Richard. In addition to his immediate family, David leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and nanny Gloria Duplechain who will carry his memory in their hearts.
