David Devillier, Sr.

OPELOUSAS-Funeral Services for Mr. David K. DeVillier, Sr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

David was a native and life long resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at this home at the age of 49. He was Manager of the Mama's Fried Chicken (Landry Street Location) of Opelousas. As a past time he enjoyed doing carpentry. He loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a big heart and loved helping others all around him.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Alisa DeVillier of Opelousas; his sons, David "Doogie" DeVillier II and Wyatt G. DeVillier, both of Opelousas; his brothers, Lenny DeVillier and wife, Sharon of Opelousas; Robert Dale DeVillier and wife, Charlotte of Lawtell; and Kenny DeVillier and wife, Shelli of Lafayette; his sisters, Shelia Kidder and husband, Paul of Denham Springs; and Barbara DeVillier of Opelousas; his mother-in-law, Joyce Goudeau of Opelousas; sister-in- law, Pauline Guillory and husband, Glen of Port Barre; brothers-in-law, Richard Goudeau and wife, Carol of St. Francisville; and Dylan Goudeau and wife, Carol of Crowley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland DeVillier and Mary Grace Lalonde DeVillier; his brothers, Carl Anthony DeVillier, Michael DeVillier, Glenn Ray DeVillier and Leland DeVillier, Jr.; and nephew, Lenny Paul DeVillier, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Lenny DeVillier, David DeVillier, Don Joseph, Dylan Lavergne, Jason Fontenot and Brad Ortego.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday at 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
