David Benoit

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell. Rev. Father Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.
David was a native and longtime resident of Lawtell. He passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He was a shop foreman with Schlumberger for 11 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife and children and his friends. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and tending to his cattle. He lived his life to the fullest and had a comical personality. He attended St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Cynthia Arnaud Benoit of Lawtell one son, Brice Paul Benoit of Lawtell one daughter, Madison Blair Benoit of Lawtell one brother, Paul Benoit, Jr. and fianc , Angie Wiggins of Cankton one sister, Margaret Higginbotham and companion, Waylon Roy of Lawtell fatherinlaw, Francis Arnaud of New Orleans motherinlaw, Rita Arnaud of Prairie Ronde sisterinlaw, Mona Burghdoff and husband, Brad of Port Barre brothersinlaw, Darrell Arnaud and companion, Amber Vorous of Eunice and Troy Arnaud and wife, Donna of Church Point and numerous nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Alton Benoit, Sr. and Marilyn Theriot Benoit.
Pallbearers will be Brice Benoit, Nick Benoit, Francis Benoit, Darrell Arnaud, Victor Matte, and Waylon Roy.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, December 22, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
