Darren Blake Mouton
Grand Coteau- Funeral services for Darren Blake Mouton, age 41, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Chapel of Grand Coteau. Interment will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery in Carencro, LA.
Rev. Benny Reppond will officiate the services.
Darren was a long time resident of Opelousas. He died on Friday, August 14, 2009, in Alexandria.
Darren started playing the accordion when he was only nine years old and continued playing all of his life. He played with many top musicians of the south. In 1994, he was named Best Accordion Player of the Year by CFMA and later he won Best Album of the Year. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a loving fianc and a good person who will be sadly missed by his fianc. Darren was well liked by everyone and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mourning his death yet cherishing his memories is his daughter, Ashley Burrows and husband, Barry of Sunset; his father, Billy Jules Mouton of Opelousas; fianc, Peggy Venable of Sunset; two brothers: Bryant Mouton and wife, Rachael of Opelousas; and Troy Mouton of Opelousas; two sisters: Veronica Chiasson and husband, Dale of Sunset; and Stacey Richard of Church Point; two grandchildren: Ayden and Ethan Burrows; and one step grandson, Bryson Burrows.
Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Faul Luker; and his son, Brandon Keith Richard.
