Dallas Joseph Andrus

Opelousas Memorial services for Mr. Dallas Joseph Andrus, age 63, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Andrus died on Sunday, November 5, 2006, at his residence in Opelousas. Mr. Andrus was a resident of Opelousas for the past 12 years and a native of Port Barre. He was a Tug Boat Captain for 20 years. He had a deep love for horses. He especially enjoyed riding horses and participating in rodeos.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Mrs. Wilda Richard Andrus of Opelousas; three sons: Randall, Daniel, and Calvin Schexnayder; two daughters: Denise Schexnayder and Bonnie Acosta; four step sons: Steve Richard, James Wedgeworth, Kelly Wedgeworth, and Richard Wedgeworth; two step daughters: Suzette Hilliard and Karen Hilliard Ray; two nieces: Gloria and Charles Duplechain of Arnaudville; and Tammy Moore of Slidell; and a host of grandchildren and nephews.

Mr. Andrus was preceded in death by his parents, Mancil and Bessie Taylor Andrus; two brothers: Joseph Bud Daily Andrus and William Johnson; and four sisters: Leona Moore, Linda Andrus, Betty Deville, and Norma Russo.

In lieu of flowers, the Andrus family requests that donations be made to help defray the cost of the funeral expenses. Contributions can be made to Sibille Funeral Home, co the Dallas Andrus Family, 2309 George Dr., Opelousas, LA 70570.
