Dale Ryder

Opelousas Funeral services were held for Dale Ryder, age 68, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Park. The service was officiated by Benny Reppond.
Dale was a resident of Opelousas. He died on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home. Dale was a Lumber Broker for Elco Lumber Company for many years. He was a member of the Louisiana Building Association, Mississippi Building Association and a previous member of the YamBassador Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, building custom fishing rods and baits and cooking for and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sandra Elder Ryder of Opelousas, children, Scott Savoie and wife, Tara of Iota, Troy Savoie and wife, Jackie of Albuquerque, NM, Mark Ryder of Baton Rouge, Shannen Vickers and husband, Paul of Baton Rouge, Holly Georgeson, of Baton Rouge, and Erin Stelly and husband, Jeremy of Arnaudville, brother, David Ryder and wife, Barbara of Opelousas, sister, Linda Sonnier and husband, Paul of Lafayette and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Rose Mary Phillips Ryder, one son, Matthew Dale Ryder, sister, Joann Burleigh.

Visiting hours were observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, March 22, 2014, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
