Cyprien Meche
P P Cankton- Funeral services for Mr. Cyprien Meche, age 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in the St. John Berchman Catholic Church. Interment followed in the St. John Berchman Cemetery and a full military detail was performed at the cemetery.
Fr. Henry Broussard will officiate the funeral Mass.
Cyprien was a long time resident of Cankton, but was currently residing in Carencro, LA. He passed away peacefully in the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center on Saturday, December 19, 2009.
He was a carpenter for most of his life. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. He enjoyed rabbit and dove hunting, and he loved to fish until he could no longer do so. He was very active and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a great man according to his family and was a very loving and caring husband, father, grand father, great grand-father.
Survivors include his sons: James Meche and wife, Alice of Cankton; Steven Meche and wife, Verlene of Cankton; Edward Meche and wife, Rose of Spring, Texas; and Michael Meche and wife, Helen of Spring, Texas; daughters: Eula Marie Meche and friend, David of Clinton Arkansas; Christine Meche and husband, Joey of Conway, Arkansas; Louise Via and husband, John of Heber Spring, Arkansas; and Melanie Yates and husband, Mike of Oppelo, Arkansas; one brother, Amedie Meche of Sunset; ten grand-children and ten great grand-children.
Preceded in death by his wife of many years, Juanita Mae Meche and his parents: Joseph and Ella Menard Meche.
