Leonville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Cynthia Leger on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Inurnment will follow the mass services in St. Leo Cemetery.
Cynthia Ann Leger, born Cynthia Ann Guidroz on August 29, 1951, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away on December 6, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. In her final moments, Cynthia was surrounded by loved ones, reminding us of the immeasurable impact she had on their lives.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who found joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Cynthia was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of all those around her.
In her early years, Cynthia pursued a career as a beautician and even owned her own beauty shop for a brief period of time. Her talent and passion for making others feel beautiful were evident in her work. Beyond her career, Cynthia had many interests and hobbies that enriched her life. She had an unyielding love for nature and found solace in gardening. Spending hours tending to vibrant flowers and lush plants brought her immense joy. Cynthia also embraced adventurous outdoor activities like camping and fishing. Whether casting her line into calm waters or sitting by a crackling campfire under a star-filled sky, Cynthia found tranquility in these simple yet profound moments. Her zest for life was infectious and inspired those around her to appreciate every precious second.
Above all else, family was the cornerstone of Cynthia's life. She treasured the moments spent creating lasting memories with her children and grandchildren. Her warmth and affection filled their lives with immeasurable love and happiness. Cynthia's legacy will forever be remembered by the love and compassion she embodied. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cynthia is survived by her husband of 26 years, Martin Leger, Sr.; sons, Michael Shane Lafleur and wife, Chassie, Mitchell Travis Lafleur and wife, Kristi, and Joey Lee Lafleur and wife, Leigh; daughter, Tara Michelle Lafleur; brother, Bobby Guidroz and wife, Karen; sister, Becky Denise Mayeux and husband, Chris; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Guidroz Sr. and Anna Fisette Guidroz; her brother, Frank Guidroz, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Jonathon Chance Hegwood.
As we bid farewell to Cynthia Ann Leger, let us celebrate a life well-lived and hold onto the cherished memories that will forever be a testament to her beautiful soul. May she find eternal peace in the realms beyond, knowing that she has left an everlasting legacy of love and kindness.
The family would like for family and friends to join them in the St. Leo Catholic Church Hall after the cemetery for a meal.
