Cynthia, affectionately known as Tinny by close family members, was born and raised in Sunset. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo church in Grand Coteau. She completed a two year secretarial course at SLI, now UL Lafayette, and began a long career as a bookkeeper and secretary at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. She graced the administration hall at the Academy for 38 years from 1978 until 2016. Long term, she was the assistant to the Headmistress. As a new Headmistress came along, Cynthia took this in her stride and helped with the transition. She was loved and respected by staff and students alike. She was loyal, discrete, professional, and had a terrific work ethic.
Cynthia bravely battled cancer for five year while working fulltime and going through chemo and every treatment available to her. Her Catholic faith and strong constitution sustained her. Her work and family was her life. She took pride in her beautiful hair, and was a beloved client at Jody's Inc. in the Oil center for many years. Cynthia was always impeccably dressed. She did have a hobby , shopping, especially with her sister, Gayle. They were always warmly greeted at Talbots, "Look, the sisters are here!".
Pallbearers will be Cody Bolfer, Dr. Harold LeDoux, Marc LeDoux, Ryan Boudreau, Dr. Tynes Mixon and Erik Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Boudreau, Jude Boudreau, Ted LeDoux, Abby Andrus, and George Stelly.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Cain and his staff, and the nurses at the Cancer Center of Acadiana, the staff at The Carpenter House, and her personal sitters at home. Also, many thanks to friends and neighbors who brought food, prayed, and cared for her, especially her neighbors Maggie, George, and Natalie Stelly who have supported her in many ways over the years.
