Curtis Vicknair, Jr.

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian will be held for Curtis Vicknair, Jr., on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Curtis, age 44, a resident of Port Barre passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Curtis enjoyed fishing, country music, working at the fairgrounds, and cooking out. He loved his family with all his heart. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Alice of Port Barre, mother, Adrianna Katherine LeBlanc of Opelousas, father, Curtis R. Vicknair, Sr. of Arnaudville, brothers, Christopher Vicknair of Arnaudville, Joseph “Joe” Leblanc, Jr., (Jessica) of Port Barre, and Michael LeBlanc of Chataigner, sisters, Melanie Hook (Shannon) of Opelousas, Lana Hook (Troy) of Ville Platte, and Desiree Vicknair (D.J.)  of Henderson, godchild, Candice Richard of Prairie Ronde, god parents, David and Rose Vicknair of Henderson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his father that raised him, Joseph Treme LeBlanc, Sr., paternal grandparents, Leroy and Rosa Mae Vicknair, maternal grandparents, Rene, and Wilma Allemond, brothers, Cobey Vicknair, and James LeBlanc, aunt, Emily Bergeron, uncle, Rene Allemond and aunt, Elaine.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 2:00 pm. to 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
