Grand Coteau Funeral services for Mr. Curtis Richard, 89, will be held at 1: 00 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2007, in the St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mr. Richard, a native of Bristol and longtime resident of the Bellevue community, died at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007 at the J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

Mr. Curtis was a wonderful farmer and cattleman. He loved being with his family. He enjoyed sports and fishing and was affectionately known as the neighborhood barber. He was known by everyone as a very honest and decent person and he will be missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his two sons, Roy C. Richard of Opelousas and Carl W. Richard of Houston, TX ; one sister Mrs. Pearl Artigue of Metairie; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Hazel Bellard Richard; his parents Jean Batiste and Victoria Calligan Richard; and 6 brothers.

Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, from 1:00p.m. -10:00p.m. and will re-open at 8:00a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
