Curtis Lalonde

Opelousas- Funeral services for Curtis Paul Lalonde, age 59, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Reverend Chad Bolfa, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs will conduct the services.

Curtis was born in Lafayette and was a lifelong resident of Krotz Springs. He died on September 11, 2009 at 7:33 p.m. in the Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Lalonde worked on tug boats all of his life and he loved visiting the Atchafalaya River daily to watch the tug boats go by.

Survivors include his wife Patricia of Krotz Springs; son, Gregory Lalonde and wife Rebecca Dupont Lalonde of Krotz Springs; step-son, Arthur Sittig of Delcambre; daughter, Marcie Taylor of Arnaudville; step daughters, Danna Deville of Mamou and Liz Deville and husband Johnny of Easton; brothers, Harry Lalonde and wife Lucy of Beaumont, TX and Ricky Lalonde and wife Jackie of Chitagnier; sisters, Ethel Latiolais of Breaux Bridge, Jane Artigue and husband Harris of Arnaudville, Nell Begnaud and husband Carrol of Cecilia, Shirley Quebedeaux and husband James of Washington, Flo Dupre and husband Joe of Prairie Ronde, and Wanda Sittig and husband Ray of Chitagnier; he is also survived by a host of grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Lola Angelle Lalonde; a grandson, Tyler Zachery TyTy Lalonde and a step-son, Nolton Sittig.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. all night until the Sunday funeral time.

A Rosary service will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
