Curliss Leger
Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Curliss Leger, age 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Roy Baker will officiate the services.
Mr. Leger was a native of Bosco, LA and a resident of Opelousas. He died at 8:10 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007, in Opelousas General Health System. He was a cook while working offshore for many years. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking and family gatherings. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include four sons: Lester Leger and wife, Joy of Denham Springs; Preston Leger and wife, Sha of Dodson, LA; Floyd Leger of Victoria, TX; and Gene Leger and wife, Loretta of Denham Springs; one brother, Norris Leger and wife, Mildred of Cankton; two sisters: Marie Leger of Opelousas; and Lorisa LeJeune of Cankton; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Leger was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Clarise Bertrand Leger; and his parents: Mr. Willis Leger and Mrs. Colostie Richard Leger.
Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
