Connie Tatman

OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for, Mr. Connie Jerome Tatman, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park. Pastor Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

Connie, age 72, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Connie will be remembered as someone with a heart of gold who loved and cherished his family and friends. In his pastime he enjoyed fishing, bowling, attending LSU parties and watching sports. Connie also served on the Board of Directors for the Amy Bradford Ware School in Opelousas. He savored every moment spent with his family and friends, but most of all the time with his grandchildren. Connie will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Bellard Tatman; son, Shane Tatman and wife, Kathy Langlois Tatman; daughter, Michelle Tatman Miller and husband, Jude; 4 grandchildren, Brooke Ashley Tatman, Zachary Jude Miller, Kiley Grace Tatman and Zane Michael Miller and his sister, Dianne Jennings.

Connie is preceded in death by his father, Cornelius Vanderbilt Tatman, Jr.; mother, Elise Patin Jennings; step-father, Bruce Edward Jennings and sister, Carmen Denise Speyrer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Visitation will continue on Sunday, May 28, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Shane Tatman (son), Jude Miller (son-in-law), Michael Soileau, Greg Richard and Steve Nezat. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Nickey Nezat, Gene Nezat, Donald Bellard (brother-in-law), Zachary and Zane Miller (grandchildren).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice for keeping Connie comfortable in his final days with lewy dementia.
