Opelousas Funeral services for Connie Lee Wheeler Deville, age 52, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Connie was a native of Alexandria and longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at her home. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a dedicated Public School Teacher having taught for 11 years at Opelousas High School. She graduated from ULL, Summa Cum Laude. She was a member of numerous Honor Societys, including phi theta kappa.

Survivors include her loving husband of 29 years, Sterling Francis Deville of Opelousas, her two children Sterling Drew and Taylor Beaud Deville of Opelousas, her mother, Winnie Wheeler of Ball, LA., her brother, Ted Wheeler and wife, Karen of Pineville, LA., her sister, Trena Wheeler Irby and husband, Curtis of Ball, LA.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Wheeler.

The family would like to send a special Thanks to her friends, Catherine Cosgrove Richard, Susan Boudreaux, Christian West, Buster and Marie LeBlanc. Also many Thanks to Dr. Cole and his Staff, and Dr. Danesfhar and his Staff.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, November 10, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
