Port Barre Graveside Funeral services for Cohen Ryder, age1 day, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Nicky Trahan officiated the services.

Cohen was born on October 3, 2008, in Opelousas and was a resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008, in the Opelousas General Health System.

He is survived by his parents, Jamison and Misty Mayer Ryder; paternal grandparents: Jeff Ryder and Wanda Susan Duplechain Ryder; maternal grandparents: John Ronald Mayer and Jackie Reed Mayer, all of Port Barre; Aunts and Uncles: Robert Rob and Alicia Reed of Washington; Matthew and Dodi Ryder of Port Barre; Dr. Damian and Shannon Badeaux of Opelousas; Brandy Mayer and Chad Mayer, both of Port Barre. His godparents are Matthew Ryder and Shannon Badeaux.

Private visitation was held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
