Opelousas Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. Clinton George Beaugh. He was known to many as Picant. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.
Clinton was born in Sweet Lake, LA, was raised in Lawtell, LA, and longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA, at the age of 84.
Law Enforcement and serving his community was his life. He was retired from Opelousas Police Department with the rank of Major serving for 26 years. He continued his service as City Marshall with the City of Opelousas for 16 years. He was a past graduate of Lawtell High School. He was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council, and the Elks Lodge of Opelousas. As a pastime, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to cook and go fishing with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Rounie Reed Beaugh of Opelousas one son, Rickey Michael Beaugh and wife, Laura of Lafayette two daughters, Jeanne Beaugh Lopinto and husband, Frank Anthony Lopinto, Jr. of Prairieville and Suzanne Williams Barry and husband, Mark of Grand Coteau 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, and 9 step greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Beaugh and Margaret Pitre Beaugh.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Prompt Succor Nursing Home and the staff of LA Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care given to Mr. Beaugh and the family.
In Liu of flowers the family asked that donation be made to the Alzheimer foundation.
