Clifton J. Lanclos
Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Clifton J. Lanclos, age 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Interment will follow in St. Leo Cemetery.
Father Kenneth Domingue will celebrate the Mass.
He was a native of Leonville and longtime resident of Opelousas. He died on Monday, April 12, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. He was a leverman on a dredge boat for over 37 years. He was a hardworking and dedicated person and working was his hobby. He did some fishing and shrimping in his spare time. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Sis Fitzgerald Lanclos of Opelousas three sons: Roger Lanclos and companion, Lucille of Carencro Terry Lanclos of Opelousas and Charles Lanclos and wife, Pam of Port Barre one daughter, Glenda Dugas of Opelousas 9 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Jane Ledoux of Covington and Dolores Moreau and husband, Kenneth of Opelousas stepbrother, Carol Lagrange and wife, Merlin of Arnaudville sisterinlaw, Margaret Lanclos of Lafayette and step sisterinlaw, Helen Lagrange of Arnaudville.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Oscar and Rosa Zerangue, and Michelle and Flavie Lanclos father, Homer Lanclos mother, Louise Lagrange stepfather, Daniel Lagrange, Sr. brother, Walter Lanclos stepbrother, Daniel Lagrange, Jr. brotherinlaw, C. J. Ledoux soninlaw, Glenn Dugas grandson, Daniel Lanclos and greatgranddaughter, Samantha Chatman.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their wonderful care and assistance during Mr. Lanclos time of need.
