Clem Joseph Zerangue, Sr.
Opelousas Funeral services for Clem Joseph Zerangue, Sr., age 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, with a service in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Deacon Sammy Diesi will officate the service.
Mr. Clem was a native and a lifetime resident of Opelousas. He died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Tri Community Nursing Home.
Mr. Clem enjoyed fishing and gardening. He retired from the State of La., Hwy Department.
Survivors include his children Clem Zerangue Jr.and wife, Linda of Opelousas, Betty Briley and husband, Wilber of Port Barre, and Priscilla DeValcourt and husband, Gary of Opelousas, one special daughterinlaw Marilyn Dupre Zerangue, of Lafayette, seventeen grandchildren, and thirty five great grandchildren, and five great greatgrandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Clesmie and Anotile Mallet Zerangue, his wife, Josephine Angelle Zerangue, daughter, Ginger Zerangue LaJack, son, Ronald Zerangue, two grandchildren Brad Briley, and Thomas LaJack, brothers Aldest, Sterling, Clayton and Ivy Zerangue, one sister, Bernice Meche.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
