Claudia Courville

Opelousas- A Celebration of Life Memorial service for Claudia Shelton Courville will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016, in First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the service.

Claudia was a native of Oklahoma and a resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 59. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Leonard Paul Courville of Port Barre; four sons, James Michael Courville of Port Barre; Jared Courville and wife, Leslie of Port Barre; Leonard Shane Courville and wife, Angie of Dallas, TX; and Bryan Keith Courville and wife, Amy of Opelousas; two daughters, Crystal Courville of Port Barre; and Ashley Lavergne and husband, Blake of Port Barre; two brothers, James "Mike" Michael Shelton of Hattiesburg, MS; and James "Butch" H. Shelton and wife, Anna of Mandeville; and ten grandchildren: Taylor, Lexi, Zachary, Chase, Noah, Jonah, Adalee, Wyatt, Easton, and Eli.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, James H. Shelton and Betty Dunn Shelton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to help defray the funeral expenses.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until time of 6:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Opelousas.
