Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Cheri Ann Hook, age 45, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Father Pete Smith will conduct the services.

Mrs. Cheri was a resident of Port Barre and died on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. in Port Barre due to an automobile accident.

Mrs. Cheri was born in Reno, Nevada; and lived most of her childhood in Louisiana before moving to Seattle, Washington, and Missouri. She was a painter with Kenworth for over 10 years in Seattle. When she moved back to the Port Barre area about 8 years ago, she was employed with Bordelon Ford as a salesperson for one year and a homemaker.

Mrs. Cheri enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cooking. Some of her pastime activities included playing bingo and caring for her dogs. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

Survivors include her husband whom she was married to for seven years, Frank Ray Hook of Port Barre; her mother, Mrs. JoAnn Guillory Okeson and husband, Marcus Okeson of Opelousas; one son, Robert Glenn Bud Eaton, Jr. of Kent, Washington; two daughters: Lacy Reaves and husband, Maurice Reece Welch of Park Hills, Missouri; and Brandie Jo Reaves and husband, Marty Carter of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two step-sons: Shannon Eli Hook, Sr. and wife, Melanie of Opelousas; and Troy Jacob Hook and wife, Lana of Ville Platte; one step-daughter, Jessica Lyn Hook LeBlanc and husband, Joseph Treme LeBlanc, Jr. of Port Barre; two brothers: Travis Jules Blevins and wife, Allison, and Shane Joseph Witt and wife, Amber, all of Opelousas; one sister-in-law, Tonya Pope of Opelousas; 16 grandchildren; 3 uncles and 5 aunts. She also has a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and extended family.

Preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Kip Phillips and her father and mother-in-law: Frank Hook and Edna Lalonde Hook.

Pallbearers will be Troy Hook, Shane Witt, Travis Blevins, Robert Eaton, Jr., Shannon Hook, Sr., Marty Carter, Maurice Reece Welch and Ronald Faul.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Father Pete Smith will have a Litany service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to help defray the funeral expenses.
