Opelousas--Funeral service will be held for Charles Ralph Nezat, on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel . Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a rosary at 1:30p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.

 Ralph, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2025, at the St. Joseph Carpenter House. He was born on June 27, 1941, in Krotz Springs.

Throughout his life, Ralph exemplified hard work and dedication across various trades. He began his career in farming during the 1970s and 1980s, later serving as a Police Juror member, during his 11 years term as Police Juror, he was especially proud of his role in the Evangeline Downs Race track and also of forming the Road District 6 in St. Landry Parish. In the last 20 years of his professional journey, he was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the St. Landry Parish Gravity Drainage District. His commitment to service extended beyond his career; he proudly served in the Army and was recognized as a member of the NRA, a KC Council Honorary Life Member, and a Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary member, earning respect and admiration from his community.

Ralph was a loving person whose greatest joys were his wife, June Grimmett Nezat, and their family. He cherished every moment spent with his children, Mitchelle Dwayne Nezat (Kelly) and Jared Lane Nezat (Lana) of Port Barre. His grandchildren, Savannah Larkin Nezat, Lannie Blaire Vidrine, Hayes Lane Nezat, Harper Roan Nezat, Dakota Latham, and Hunter Falco, his brothers, Ricky James Nezat (Charlotte) of Port Barre, Michael Linza Nezat (Bernadine) of Port Barre, and Hebert "Buddy" Nezat of Shreveport, La, sisters, June Nezat LeBlanc of Lottie, La., Catherine Harriet Nichols of Port Barre, and Renee Nezat Dunbar (Johnny) of Port Barre, and he found immense pleasure in fishing, hunting, and sharing quality time with them.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Herbert and Mildred Nezat, brother, Paul Ronald Nezat, and his sister, Pauline Marie Nezat Dupre. Charles Ralph Nezat leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and dedication—qualities that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.

Pallbearer's will be Mitchell Dwayne Nezat, Jared Lane Nezat, Hayes Lane Nezat, Harper Roan Nezat, Ricky James Nezat, and Michael Linza Nezat.
