Opelousas Funeral services for Charles Joe Joe Palombo will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Private interment will follow at a later date in the St. Alphonse Catholic Church Cemetery in Maurice. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services.
Charles was a native of Abbeville and was a resident of Palmetto. He passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014, at TriCommunity Nursing Home in Palmetto at the age of 64.
He was a repair man who repaired appliances for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and doing bodywork on automobiles. His favorite pastime was dancing and listening to music.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Palombo of Rayne one son, Tyler T. Palombo of Rayne one daughter, Leona Jean Palombo of Rayne two brothers, Allen G. Palombo of Broussard and Alfred TLou Paul Palombo, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Lafayette four sisters, Diane Palombo Fitch of Broussard Sandra Palombo Sellers and husband, Merrell of Church Point Kathy Palombo Walters and husband, Art of Youngsville and Shelly Palombo Criddle and husband, Jay of Cleveland, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Paul Palombo, Sr. and June Mary Alves Palombo and his grandparents: General Palombo and Leona Jean David Palombo and Charles Pete Alves and Adel Maggie Primeaux Alves.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, January 19, 2014, 10:00 a.m. for the family from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of TriCommunity Nursing Home of Palmetto and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care and medical attention given to Mr. Charles.
