Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wayne Daville, known to many as Wayne ,age 54, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ted Hall will officiate the services.
Mr. Daville was a native of Prairie Ronde and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. He passed away at 1:11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the home of Marie Chautin in Opelousas.
Mr. Daville worked in the oilfield until an accident. He then worked on Small engines doing repairs. He has been disabled for many years. He enjoyed growing a vegetable garden and caring for the elderly around him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Lillian Deville Lavergne and husband, Raoul; one daughter, Amy Gaiennie and husband, Richard; one son, Micah Arceneaux; companion for many years, Marie Chautin; all of Opelousas; two sisters: Shirley Leger Bernard and husband, Milton of Leonville; and Roma Daughdrill and husband, Roger of Denham Springs; one brother, Donald Comeaux of Opelousas; four grandchildren: Mary Virginia, Calvin, Edward, and Connor, all of Opelousas; and his former wife and mother of his daughter, Lainey Prejean Smith. He has three special nieces: Racheal Herpin, Shawnee Lauchner, and Casey Romero. He also has a host of other nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Wyble Daville of Opelousas; and two nephews: David Shawn Leger and Chad Michael Comeaux.
Pallbearers will be Richard Gaiennie, Milton Bernard, Harvey Junior LeBouef, Preston Leger, Pat Miller, and Andre Herpin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kamin Leger Zerangue and Layne Herpin.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
A Reflection and Remembrance service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
