Charles Chuck Lalonde, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Chuck Lalonde, Jr., age 33, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville. Father Kenneth Domingue will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Lalonde was born in Coco Beach, Florida, and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. He passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2008. He was employed with Custom Steel as a steel erector. He enjoyed doing mechanical work and one of his favorite hobbies was race cars. He was a loving father, son, and brother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Charles Charlie Lalonde III; his daughter, Chelsea Nicole Stelly; his mother, Mrs. Elaine Robin Watkins and husband, Jess, all of Opelousas; his sister, Marie Lalonde Miller and husband, Keith; one niece, Alyssa Murtagh; two nephews: Cameron Miller and Chase Miller, all of Lawtell; and the mother of his children: Taven Stelly Lalonde of Opelousas. He also has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family.

Preceeded in death by his father, Charles Ned Lalonde, Sr.; his paternal grandparents: Offie and Marie Lalonde; and his maternal grandparents: Nathan and Edna Robin.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
