Opelousas Funeral services for Chadwick Chad Joseph Soileau, age 32, will be held in Queen of Angels Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Msgr. Keith DeRouen. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Chad was a longtime resident of Opelousas. He died on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System. He enjoyed spending time with his children, family, and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Bryan Soileau and wife, Cindy Bernard Soileau of Maurice and Darryl Zerangue and Elizabeth Liz Zerangue of Opelousas one son, Nathan Joseph Soileau and Kirsten Viole Soileau, both of Coteau Holmes four brothers, Donovan Soileau and fianc, Charli Andrus of Opelousas Timothy and Kevin Zerangue, both of Opelousas and Brandon Duhon of Maurice four sisters, Samantha Soileau, Katie Soileau, Emily Soileau, and Amanda Duhon, all of Maurice grandparents, Mona Fruge Glasscock, Ruth Manuel Zerangue, and Curtis Black Soileau and Anna Belle Bertrand Soileau, all of Opelousas nieces and nephews: Eli and Evie Soileau of Opelousas and Evelyn Molaison of Maurice and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Monica Den Glasscock and his grandfathers, Sheriff Howard Zerangue, Sr. and Seeman George Glasscock, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Soileau, Timothy Zerangue, Kevin Zerangue, Brandon Duhon, Daniel Mansfield, Jason Hebert, Shay Delahoussaye, and Ricardo T Sally.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help defray the funeral expenses.
