Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Cecile D. DelBueno, age 94, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, Christian Funeral Service in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Private Interment will follow the service.
Father Pete Smith, Pastor of the Epiphany Episcopal Church will conduct the Funeral Service.
Mrs. DelBueno was born near Cecilia, in St. Martin Parish in 1917. She was a direct descendant of Joseph Beausoliel Broussard and Agnes Thibodeau, original Acadians from Nova Scotia. She grew up in Krotz Springs, but spent most all of her life in Opelousas. She was a doting mother and grandmother. She was also an associate in Jack DelBueno Specialty Advertising. She resided at Cest La Vie in Opelousas, before moving to Arnaudville and J Michael Morrow Nursing Home were she passed on Saturday, November 5th, 2011.
Mrs. DelBueno is survived by one son, Jack Raphael DelBueno, Jr. and his wife Theresa, of Opelousas one daughter, Cecile Dianne DelBueno DeJean, of Sunset two grandsons, Charles R. DelBueno, and H.B. DeJean one granddaughter, Suzanne N. DeJean and two great grandchildren, Lauren and Haley DelBueno. She is also survived by one sister, Ann Devillier Riffel of Baton Rouge.
Mrs. DelBueno was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jack R. DelBueno, Sr. and her parents, Charles Kenny and Anaise Legrand Devillier one sister, Evelyn Devillier Stewart.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 7, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of Service.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
The family of Mrs. DelBueno wishes to thank the staff of J Michael Morrow Nursing Home for their caring, love and support. The family request that donations be made to the Epiphany Episcopal Church or St. Landry Catholic Church.
