Palmetto Funeral services for Mrs. Cassandra Gail Ceasar Flakes, age 52, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the New Life Church of God in Palmetto. Interment will follow in the New Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Palmetto.

Mrs. Cassandra was a native of Dallas, Texas, and was currently residing in Lafayette. She passed away at 9:27 a.m. on March 21, 2009, at the Ochsner's Hospital in New Orleans.

Survivors include her husband, Booker T. Flakes of Lafayette; one son, Murra Demond Forbes of Dallas, TX; daughter, Solethia DeShon Forbes of Moreauville; mother, Erma Dean Ceasar in Dallas, TX; step mother, Shirley Ceasar in Port Barre; five brothers: Gregory Ceasar of Dallas, TX; Anthony Ceasar of Lafayette; John Theirry of Killeen, TX; Kevin L. Ceasar of Palmetto; Anthony M. Ceasar of Opelousas; two sisters: Dometrice Louis of Branch; and Louise Prince of Lafayette; and three grandsons: Isaiah Cheeks, Jordan Cheeks, and Efren James.

Preceded in death by her father, Willie Lloyd Ceasar, Sr.; brother, Willie Lloyd Ceasar, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Anna Ceasar; maternal grandmother, Besie Shepard Martin; and maternal grandfather, Cap Martin.

Visiting hours will be observed in the New Life Church of God in Palmetto on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 1p.m.
