Port Barre -Carolyn Rose Dupre, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on December 30, 2023, at Opelousas General Health System. She was born November 18, 1949, in Courtableau to Ervin and Minnie Hooks. Carolyn was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family.
Carolyn had a warm and nurturing spirit that made her house truly feel like a home. She poured love and care into everything she did, especially when it came to her children and grandchildren. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family as well; Carolyn touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her.
During her career as a homemaker, Carolyn created a loving and welcoming environment for her family. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel comfortable in her presence. Her kintdness and compassion were evident in the unconditional love she showered upon her loved ones.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters Tammy Fisette and her husband Nick Buriege of Maringouin; Mabel Breaux of Port Barre; Amy Bauer of Metairie; grandchildren Desirae Fisette, Megan Vidrine, Taylor Wheeler, Cassie Breaux, Lonnie Breaux; step-grandchildren Kyler Giancaspro, Jarred Giancaspro, Patience Giancaspro, Dalton Bauer, Victoria Bauer and Katie Bauer; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to leaving behind a devoted family, Carolyn is reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. She is preceded in death by her first husband Donald Fisette, second husband Harold Dupre, son James Fisette, and brothers Joseph and Ernest Hooks.
To honor Carolyn's life and offer support to those who loved her during this difficult time, visitation services will be held at Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home, led by Pastor Benny Reppond. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA.
Carolyn Dupre's legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering devotion to her family and friends serves as an inspiration to all. As we bid farewell to Carolyn, let us remember her for the joy she brought into our lives and the everlasting impact she made on our hearts.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
