Carolyn LaFleur Caillouet, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, at her home in Sunset, surrounded by family. Mrs. Caillouet was born in Opelousas and graduated from Opelousas High School in 1955. She obtained a degree in education from SLI, now UL at Lafayette, in 1959 and later married her high school sweetheart, James T. "Bubsy" Caillouet. Carolyn taught school for 15 years in St. Landry Parish and then opened a ladies' dress shop, Village Armoire, in Opelousas. She always said the shop was necessary as she and Bubsy raised 5 beautiful daughters. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, heirloom sewing and playing bridge. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their camp in Grand Isle, where she loved to fish.
