Opelousas -Memorial services for Carmen Denise Speyrer will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Benny Reppond will officiate the services.
Denise was a resident of Washington. She died on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Oschner Medical Center, at the age of 59. Denise was best known for her talents in the kitchen and preparing holiday feasts. She enjoyed the open-air freedom of riding motorcycles and she loved long conversations with family and friends. In her early years, she pursued many avenues chasing the American dream of owning her own business to give a better life to her family. These avenues include, Tupperware, insurance and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's department.
Survivors include her daughter, Chantel Spreyrer of Lafayette, brother, Connie Tatman and his wife, Betty of Opelousas, sister, Dianne Jennings of Lafayette, nieces and nephew, Shane Tatman and his wife, Kathy, and Michelle Miller and her husband, Jude of Opelousas, great niece and nephew, Brooke and Kiley Tatman, and Zach and Zane Miller, her mother-in-law, Emma Spreyer of Washington and her dog, Killer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Bruce and Elsie Oberia Patin Jennings.
The family wants to send a special thanks to Kathy Speyrer and Daneen Bourque.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 7, 2016 in the Sibille Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.
