Carlo J. Lucito
OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Mr. Carlo John Lucito, age 93, who passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Opelousas General Health System. Reverend Father Paul Bienvenu and coCelebrant Msgr. Keith Derouen will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The ReedDavis Honor guard will conduct graveside military services.
Mr. Carlo was a native of Melville and a longtime resident of Opelousas. Mr. Carlo spent many years working for Wolfs Sunbeam Bakery in Lafayette and upon retiring from his salesmans route he spent many years working at Opelousas Motor Supply. After retiring from Opelousas Motor Supply, he spent many hours visiting his friends both at Opelousas Motor Supply and Guaranty Glass. Mr. Carlo was seen often at the Funeral Homes in Opelousas paying his respects to his many friends that preceded him in death. The greatest times for Mr. Carlo were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Another love for Mr. Carlo was the daily walks that he would take with his dog Susie whom he loved dearly. Mr. Carlo was a WWII Army veteran, member of the local VFW of Opelousas, and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Mercy Council. He will be honored by his comrades with a graveside service.
Survivors include his sons: John Lucito and wife Lisa of Maurice, Richard Lucito and wife Judi of Opelousas, Steven Lucito of Opelousas daughter, Anna Lucito Wagar and husband Bob of Lafayette sister, Rosalee Gerace of Madisonville, La. eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Carlo was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hidalgo Lucito parents, Albert and Theresa Latino Lucito and sister Caroline Cypriano.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, December 2, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday the Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening.
