Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Carl Gulino, on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr. Harrington will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carl, age 87, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge with his family by his side.
Carl served in the United States Navy for 4 years, 28 years of employment for the State Agriculture Department of Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather he will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 64 years, Mrs. Nelwyn Darbonne Gulino of Opelousas, daughter, Susan Gulino Schilling (Victor Lynn) of Central, LA., sons, Carl Gulino (Lisa Amato) of Baton Rouge, Barry D. Gulino (Laura Brosset) of Baton Rouge, step son, Jim Majors (Brenda Manley) of Pineville, brother, Phil Gulino (Jerri) of Opelousas, sister, Bell Gulino Durio of Opelousas, grandchildren, Gina Collins, Chelsea Schilling, Joshua Schilling (Autumn), Dominic Gulino, Carley Gulino, Cole Gulino, Alex Gulino, Victoria Gulino, Ashley Majors Stewart (Ben), John Majors (Lanaya), great grandchildren, Gabe Majors, Abby Majors, Michael Majors, Emma Kay Collins, Archer Stewart and Samuel Stewart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Alphonse and Katherine Onnebane Gulino, brother-in-law, Neka Durio.
The family requests visitation be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
