Buddy Bell

Opelousas Funeral services for Buddy Bell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Hopewell Cemetery in Pitkin, LA. Rev. Benny Reppond will officiate the services.

Buddy died on Friday, August 29, 2014, at his home in Sunset, LA, at the age of 90. He was a native of Goodway, Alabama. He previously lived in the Elizabeth area for many years. He was currently residing in Sunset, LA. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He worked as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed working on small engines and doing mechanic work as a pastime. He was known by many as Grandpaw Bell while he attended Christian Life Center in Opelousas, LA. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Webb Bell of Sunset three sons, Zollie Bell of Dallas, NC Jessie Bell I and wife, Catlynn of Elizabeth and John Bell and wife, Brenda of Oberlin and four daughters, Margaret Hynes and husband, Sid of Cherryville, NC Jerri Droddy and husband, Jerry of Lano, TX Joanna West and husband, Larry of Sunset and Patsy Ware and husband, Don of Woodworth. He was loved much by his 18 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren, and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Avie Junior Bell his daughter, Jeralyn Bell his parents, Jesse Pete Bell and Dennie Henretta Bell and eight siblings.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, August 31, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Bell II, Aaron Ware, Jeremy Ware, Willie Hicks, Buford Lachney, and Kelton Lucas.
