Port BarreA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre, at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. Austin Leger and Deacon Mitch Hebert officiating.
It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Artigue, age 58, announces her passing on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at her home in Port Barre. She was very active in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, extraordinary Minister to the homebound, she was sacristan for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was a member of the RCIA team, a charter member and past Vice President of the Ladies Kaycee auxiliary, she was a retired cook from CF Bean Dredging Company. Her passion was camping and fishing. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Readers will be Cynitha Perron and Carol LeBlanc. Music selections will be played by Valerie Andrus.
She leaves behind her loving husband, of 32 years, William Dale Artigue of Port Barre, one daughter, April Miller and her husband, Ken of Ohio, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, her grandchildren: Haley, Kassidy, Cody, Triston Miller.
She is preceded in death by her parents J B and Cleo Dearinger Shepherd, three brothers, two sisters.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre, beginning Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 11:00 am until 10:00 pm. Visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday November 1, 2012.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
Pallbears will be Jacob Albrecht, Jeremy Albrecht, Ken Miller, Frank Albrecht, Aaron Fontenot, Shane Aymond and two honary pallbears her grandsons, Cody and Triston Miller.
The family would like to spend a special thanks to Harbor Hospice for all the loving care they gave to her and her family, and her family and friends for all their thoughts and prayers.
