Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bonnie Marie Richard, On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church. Fr. Ted Broussard will officiate the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell.

Bonnie, age 68, a resident of Lawtell, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Opelousas General Health System.

Bonnie worked at St. Landry Bank for 45 Years. She lived for her family.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Ellis J. Richard of Lawtell, daughters, Dawn Richard Alexander (Troy) of Youngsville, and Lauren Richard Pierce (Garrett) of Montgomery, Texas, brothers, Teddy Doucet (Veronica) of Vinton, LA., and Jeff Doucet of Lake Charles, sisters, Carlis Thibodeaux of Church Point and Janice Chesnut of Youngsville, grandchildren, Mckenzie Alexander, Abrianna Pierce, Ben Pierce, Luke Alexander, and Jaxson Pierce.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gertie Daigle Doucet, brother Tony Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Home will reopen on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 8:00a.m. until time of service.
