Opelousas Mass of Christian Burial for Bobery Joseph Moreau will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Msgr. Keith DeRouren will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Bobery was a resident of Swords. He passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 81.
Bobery was retired from the LA State Board of Health, Human Resource Department after 30 years of service. Bobery was proud of his BS Degree earned from SLI now ULL in Dairy Manufacture with a minor in Chemistry. Bobery loved raising his cattle after his retirement and spending time with his family and many friends. He is going to be sadly missed by all that loved and knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nancy Johnson Moreau of Swords daughters, Marcella Marcy Arton and husband, Larry of Jeanerette and Jennifer Castille of Lawtell sister, Merle Fontenot of Ville Platte grandchildren, Stacey Deiss, Lance Castille, Benjamin Castille, Brandon J. Castille, and Luke Perkins great grandchildren, Lindsey, Dylan, and Asher Deiss Brooke Soileau, Andrew, Riley, and Sophia Castille.
Bobery was preceded in death by his parents, Lorris and Elvina Bergeron Moreau and sisters, Lou Rae Guillory and Mildred Guidry.
The family would like to express deep appreciation and gratitude to the caretaker, David Borison.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, January 30, 2014, from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. the Funeral Home will reopen Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of Service. A Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the funeral home.
