Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Blaine Chautin. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Leo Mausoleum. Rev. Father Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass.
Blaine was a resident of Arnaudville. He passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at his home surround by his family at the age 53.
Blaine enjoyed gardening, cooking and painting in his past time. He was a LSU football fan and a New Orleans Saints fan. He was a loving son, caregiver to his parents, and he was a friend to his brother and sisters.
Survivors include his mother, Lenola Robin Chautin of Arnaudville, brother, Wayne Chautin and wife, Anita of Leonville, sisters, Darlene Melancon of Leonville, Elaine Leger of Arnaudville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Frank Chautin.
Visiting hours will be observed in the St. Leo Church Hall on Friday, September 6, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Church Hall.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the Church Hall.
