Grand Coteau Funeral services for Bill J. Richard, 57, will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 26, 2006, in the St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Reverend Ferd Derrera will conduct the services.

Bill J. Richard, a resident of Sunset, died at 7:10PM Friday, December 22, 20006 at his residence.

Mr. Richard was a graduate of Sunset High School in 1967, T.H. Harris in 1969, and a graduate of U.S.L. in 1978 with a B.S. in Education. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and after serving his country went on to work for Home Bank where he retired as a home loan officer and branch manager. Mr. Richard was also a member of the Sunset Sertoma Club.

Survivors include: Mother, Else Richard of Sunset; brother, Bruce Steven Richard and wife Darlene of Sunset; sister, Marianne Montet and husband Jim of Arnaudville; 3 nieces, Erin Richard, Simone Montet, Hollie Montet and 1 nephew, Todd Richard.

Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his father Mr. Alexson Richard.

Active Pallbearers will be Bruce Richard, Todd Richard, Tim Montet, Robert Barry II, Felton Soileau, and David Ducote. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Quebedeaux, Derek Johnson, and Theo Sonnier.
