Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Beverly Leger Rivette Fontenot, known to many as Sissy, age 74, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fontenot was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mrs. Beverly was a law enforcement dispatcher for many years working for Jefferson Parish Sheriff Dept., St. Landry Parish Sheriff Dept., and Opelousas Police Dept. She enjoyed spending time visiting with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, and a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed quilting and reading. She was a member of the Krotz Springs Quilters Guild, Gulf States Quilting Association, Quilters Guild Acadienne and a faith sharing group of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children: Deborah Davis and husband, Robert of Lucedale, MS Cheryl Dubroc and husband, Gary of Opelousas Lori Ledoux and husband, Gerald of Lafayette and Adam Joseph Rivette II and wife, Crystal of Abbeville step son, Teddy Fontenot and wife, Jan of Lake Charles two brothers, Ronnie Leger and wife, Pat of Opelousas and Curtis Bubba Leger and wife, Shirley of Opelousas one sister, Faith Domingue and husband, Pat of Opelousas 16 grandchildren: Jonathan and Danny Dubroc, Joseph and Dominic Cardella, Chere Breaux, Ashley Richard, Kellie Dupre, Justin and Travis Ledoux, Teri Mizell, Adam, Nathan, and Rena Rivette Mark, Zack, and Brooke Fontenot and a host of greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Alphonse Leger and Marie Rena Lafleur Leger her first husband, Adam Joseph Rivette and her husband, Etell Fontenot.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Ronnie Leger and Curtis Bubba Leger.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
