Betty Vidrine

Opelousas- A funeral service will be held for Betty Lou Vidrine at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the B.J. Fontenot Cemetery in Ville Platte. Rev. Tony Lanclos will officiate the Service.

Betty was a longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home, at the age of 86. Betty was a devoted nurse for 33 years, she enjoyed camping, cooking, carrying for the sick and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Survivors include children, Charles Vidrine and his wife, Patricia of Atlanta, GA., Shirleen Simms and her husband, Frank of Ft. Myers FL., and Phyllis Lanclos and her husband, Tony of Opelousas, brother, Alphan Fontenot, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hewitt Vidrine, her parents, brother, Burton Fontenot, sister, Laura Lanclos, and granddaughter.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home by Sammy Diesi.
