Betty Trahan

OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Betty Godeaux Trahan on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Opelousas. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Betty, age 79, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was a devout catholic, she was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Betty cherished spending time and making memories with her family. In her final months she fought the good fight, and she has now finished the race. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cleveland Trahan; sons, Mitch Trahan and wife, Brandy, Michael Trahan, Sr. and wife, Lisa, and Mark Trahan and girlfriend, Kari; sister, Hazel Carriere and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Kelli, Kacey, Brittany, Brennan, Bryan, Shelby, Chayce, Savannah and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Amerite Carriere Godeaux; brothers, Johnny and Morris Godeaux; sisters, Eura Guidry, Lee Etta Venable, Helen Cormier and Georgia St. Amand.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins.

Pallbearers will be Chayce Trahan, Jacob Beyer, Bryan Trahan, Daniel Schwing, Michael Trahan, Jr. and Derek Savant. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Myers.
