Bertha Wyble

Port Barre -A Mass of Christian Burial for Bertha Bourque Wyble, age 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Rev. Fth. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.


Ms. Bertha was a former resident of Port Barre but had been living at Senior Village Nursing Home for awhile. She died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Opelousas General Health Systems ER. Ms. Bertha enjoyed the outdoors especially around the Little Teche Community. She loved to read and spend time with her family and friends. Ms. Bertha loved taking care of family whenever they needed her. She is going to be missed by all that knew and loved her.


Survivors include her sons; Robert "Bobby" Craig Wyble and wife Kitty of Opelousas, Brent Louis Wyble and wife Linda of Wagaman, La.; son-in-law, Russell Tritico of Groves, TX; daughters, Cheryl Hidalgo of Opelousas, Joan Speyrer of Lafayette; sisters, Daisy Bourque of Arnaudville, Willie Mae Emonet of Port Barre; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Joseph and Henrietta Myrtle Boudreaux Bourque; husband, Huey Louis Wyble; daughter, Nancy Tritico; brother, Wilson Bourque and sister, Joyce Stoner.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m.
