Opelousas Funeral services for Bertha L. Pavy, age 86, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Berchman Catholic. Interment will follow in St. John Berchman Cemetery in Cankton, LA.
Fr. Gilbert Dutel will officiate the Mass.
Kevin Prather will serve as the Altar Server.
Bertha passed away peaceful at Magnolia Estates on April 27, 2011, Bertha was a wonderful cook and loved to bake, she loved her children and grandchildren, she loved Cajun music and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children Merrillene St .Cyr and husband, Larry Goat Gauthreaux of Lafayette, Carolyn St. Cyr Huckaby of Lafayette, and Billy William St.Cyr and wife, Missy of Opelousas, brothers Horace Leger of Tahlequah Oklahoma, five grandchildren, Tara Laque, Melissa St .Cyr, Elizabeth St. Cyr, Carol Sodeika and Lisa Prather, and five great grandchildren, Megan Laque, Kaitlin Laque, Leigh Vidrine, Chris Prather, and Kevin Prather.

Preceded in death by her parents Michelle and Ascelida Fruge Leger, her husband, Paul Pavy, brothers John Thibodeaux, Oville Thibodeaux, and Ophey Thibodeaux, sisters Theresa Leger, Sadie Leger, and Elvia Doucet, her soninlaw, Wilton Huckaby.

Rosary service will on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral home Chapel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
