Bernice Stelly Ivy

Grand Coteau- Funeral services for Bernice Stelly Ivy, age 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Mrs. Ivy was a native of Leonville and was a past resident of Grand Coteau and Chalmette. She was currently residing in Covington. She died on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, in the St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA.

Mrs. Ivy was a retired Custodian with the Orleans Parish School Board. She truly enjoyed spending time with family. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all.

Mrs. Ivy is survived by one son, Ronnie James Ivy and wife, Linda of Pittsburgh, PA; three daughters: Barbara Ivy of Covington; Darlene Cannon and husband, Danny of Wetumpka, AL; and Gail Probst and husband, Chuck of Abita Springs; three brothers: Elvin Stelly of Port Barre; Lee Stelly and wife, Vergie of Port Arthur, TX; and Harold Stelly and wife, Ursula of Port Arthur, TX; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Ivy, Jr., her parents: Alexis Stelly and Inez Deguyter Stelly; and four siblings: Clelita Chatelain; Melvin Stelly; Levan Stelly; and Verlie Mae Rice.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Friday, October 16, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Rosary service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
