Opelousas Funeral services for Bernard James Heinzen, age 74, will be Friday, December 10, 2010 with a service in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
He was a resident of Opelousas. He passed away on December 7, 2010 at Opelousas General Health System. Bernard was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge 1048, and past president of the Kiwanis Club in Opelousas. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons Tim Heinzen and his wife, Shanon of Lafayette, Larry Heinzen and his wife, Amy of Leonville, and Colby Heinzen of Opelousas, his daughters Angela Isaacs and her husband, Scott of Hot Springs, and Candace Heinzen of Baton Rouge, and Amy Quebedeaux and husband, Dennis of Port Barre, his sisters June Roseland of Seneca, S.D., Joyce Dubois of Minneapolis, Minn., Karen Richards of Rapid City S.D., and Lois Brunsvold of Minneapoleis, Minn., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Baloun Heinzen.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, December 9, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Elks service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening in the Funeral Home.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
