Belvalee Jean Auzenne
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Belvalee Jean Auzenne, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet.
Father Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Auzenne was a native of Lawtell and a lifelong resident of Opelousas. She died at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System.
She was an LPN in the Nursing industry for over 20 years. She was also a Notary Public. She enjoyed collecting elephants.
She was a very religious woman, a devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Mr. Darriel Auzenne of Opelousas three sons, Garhart Auzenne of Gibson, Minnesota Horace Auzenne and wife, Elouise of Lakeland, LA and Joshua Auzenne and wife, Eva of Chino, California two daughters: Sonya Auzenne and husband, Dan Czekalski and Mia Vincent and husband, Eric all of Jacksonville, Florida two brothers: Curtis Jean of San Francisco, California and Daniel Jean of Houston, Texas 7 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Auzenne was preceded in death by her parents, Israel Jean and Dorvyn Guillory Jean four sisters, and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Eric Vincent, E.J. Vincent, Robert Auzenne, Tyler Auzenne, C.J. Allen and Reginald Lemelle. Honorary Pallbearers are Garhart Auzenne, Horace Auzenne, Josh Auzenne, Nicholas Auzenne, Alexander Auzenne, Larry Lemelle, Ricky Lemelle, Clyde Standberry and Jonathan Standberry.
Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Saturday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
