Opelousas– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Belinda Gail Chautin on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Gregory Simien will officiate the Mass. Readers for the mass will be Kevin Thibodeaux and Chad Thibodeaux. Musical selections will be performed by Valerie Andrus. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Belinda, age 65, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Belinda worked in the St. Landry area for many years at Sam’s Jewelry, Standard Fittings and Dresser Industries. She was a devout catholic and dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church throughout her life. Belinda enjoyed listening and dancing to a good tune. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Belinda is survived by her brothers, Joseph Dupre and wife, Flo, John Chautin and wife, Gail, Ronald Chautin and wife, Beverly, and Gary Chautin and wife, Wendy; sister, Mary Thibodeaux and husband, Glen; sister-in-law, Rita Dupre; godchildren, Mike Chautin, Chad Thibodeaux and Mona Franks; a host of nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews she called her grand-BeBe’s.

Belinda is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Chautin and Estelle Richard Chautin; and brother, Charles Ray Dupre.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday from 8:00 until 12:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be John Chautin, Ronald Chautin, Gary Chautin, Mike Chautin, Ben Chautin and Chad Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Dupre.
